Fun beats corporate

Inspired by their Danish colleagues who embrace the motto "fun beats corporate", Arrow got an idea for their booth. They aimed to create something attention-grabbing and enjoyable, even for those not directly participating. Arrow chose the hanging bar concept to offer some physical activity for attendees who had been sitting through sessions. Additionally, they liked the idea of a competition to engage people and foster a sense of camaraderie and friendly rivalry.

Powered by Power Apps

The Power Apps scoreboard was developed with the help of one of their partners, Bots & Friends, based in Gothenburg. The Arrow team work closely with Microsoft and wanted to create a solution based on Microsoft's tools. The app collects data using Microsoft Forms, allowing easy participation through a simple QR code scan.

Arrow had a total of 60 registered competitors, with an average time of 50 seconds. The winner was Ema Myrtollari from Linksoft, with an impressive time of 143 seconds, beating the runner-up, Gilbert Peine from Softronic, by 26 seconds.

Gothenburg classics

• Liseberg - The famous amusement park where you could take your community friends on a five-game challenge or a rollercoaster ride or two.

• Universeum - Offers several experiences, from rainforest to reptiles and space trip. Wisdome is located here as well, Sweden’s largest visualisation dome.

• The Haga area - One of Gothenburg’s oldest neighborhoods. Along Haga Nygata you’ll find lots of small cafés and shops. At Café Husaren you can have FIKA and order the Hagabulle, an oversized cinnamon bun that’s become a local legend.

• Skansen kronan - Old fortress located in the Haga area. Take a short walk uphill to enjoy the view over the city.

• Explore the Gothenburg achipilago, a little longer adventure.

Sightseeing by ‘PADDAN’ or Ocean bus

Take the Paddan boat tour in the city/canals, this is a real classic activity as well! Ducking under low bridges, guide tell history and dad jokes, did its first trip 1939. Or take the Ocean Bus. It leaves from the city center, takes you sightseeing in the city and jumps into the water near “Röda sten”.

• Mr Cake Located at Stenpiren and with a slogan: “Life is short make it sweet”.

• Ahlströms konditori, Korsgatan 2, the oldest café in Gothenburg (from 1901).

• Café Agnes Located next to Liseberg and has the craziest pastries. Also the only café with an indoor ponny carousel (for kidz only unfortunately).

• da Matteo Café and coffee roastery, known for its dedication to quality and craft. For all coffee lovers!

• Slottsskogen - See moose, seals and pinguins all for free!

• Trädgårdsföreningen - One of the best-preserved 19th century parks in Europe and just next door to Nordic Summit!

Experience the City views

Skansen Kronan was already mentioned. Another place to visit for a view is Masthuggskyrkan. Spotted from both the PADDAN tour, and the Ocean bus, this old church is a landmark of Gothenburg. There are also rooftop bars to explore, if you’re near Liseberg, you could always take the elevator up to Heaven 23 located at Gothia Towers for a view.

When and where? Between 14:00 – 15:00 the upper-level floor will transform into a Mentoring Hub. There will be three dedicated rooms for speed mentoring plus the coffee area. Join a room and meet a mentor! ​

How does it work? The format is first come, first served. Each room will host two to three mentors, with 1:1 conversations taking place. There is a lime limit, max 7 minutes per mentor – attendee conversation. After that, you’re welcome to switch to another available mentor in the same room or explore a different room with a new topic.

Note that you’ll need to logon to our app in order to see the details about the mentoring sessions. Don’t forget to favorite mark the speed mentoring session you’re interested in. It won’t secure your place, but it lets us see how much interest there is.

Will you create a session covering Dynamics 365? When Nordic Summit started out, we had a focus on the CE/CRM side of D365. A few mentions

After absorbing the sea, make sure to walk through the botanical gardens with greenhouses dating back to the 1860’s.

Skiing and Norway

Nothing is more iconic to Norway than skiing. Just under 30 minutes from the city center you can visit the more than 100 year old ski jump - Holmenkollen. An amazing view and great sports history.

Hiking to heaven

If you want to have the best view possible then take the public transport to Grefsenkollen. A perfect quite place to see all of Oslo. Another view is Vettakollen. Trust us, the view is worth it!

What’s the address for the location of this event?

Nordic Summit 2024 will be held at The Hub in Oslo. The address is Clarion Hotel The Hub, Biskop Gunnerus gate 3, 0155 Oslo, Norway.

How do I best get there by airplane, train, or car?

You can fly to Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL) by airplane. Traveling by public transportation to Oslo S (Train or Airport Express) or by tram, bus, subway (t-bane) to the stop Jernbanetorget. From there you have walking distance to The Hub, see the directions!

Do I need a ticket? How much is a ticket?

Yes, you need a ticket! It cost 190 NOK. Buy one before the event is sold out. Ticket can be bought here.
